A bug report in Snagbox on iPhone, marked fixed in build 58, with three testers' verdicts: two say it works, one says still broken on iPad

Why

TestFlight delivers the build. Snagbox handles everything that happens next.

Without

  • A screenshot in a chat, no build number.
  • “It crashes when I…” and you have to ask which phone.
  • You fix it, and never hear whether the fix worked.
  • Three people asking whether the new build is up.

With Snagbox

  • Every report carries the build, the version and the device.
  • The tester files it from the phone it broke on.
  • Mark it fixed in a build; testers say “works for me” or “still broken”.
  • A push when a build lands, with its release notes.

What it does

Built around the loop: report, fix, verify.

Reports with the facts attached

Version, build and device come along by themselves. Testers pick the build from the same list TestFlight shows, add up to four screenshots, and mark which device it was worst on.

The new bug report sheet: screenshots, the affected build picked from a list, and the device ticked automatically

Fixes that get verified

Mark a bug fixed in a build. Each tester sees a “To test in 3.3 (58)” list and answers works for me or still broken. You find out whether the fix held before you ship.

Ideas ranked by the people testing

An ideas board with votes, tagged as improvement, new feature or design. A questions board where the best answer rises and can be marked as accepted.

Release notes from App Store Connect

Open a space and your builds mirror in from TestFlight with their What to Test. Testers get a push when a new one lands. The key that makes it possible never leaves your device.

Release notes for each build, the latest marked, an expired one greyed

Chat and announcements

A channel for the team and one for announcements that push to everyone.

Invite codes that expire

One-use codes, or codes with a number of uses and a date. Nobody gets in without one.

Roles per space

Owner, developer, tester. Only the owner hands out roles; staff triage, testers report.

Resources

Attach a testing guide or a manual as a PDF; testers open it from the space.

Device families

Filter the bug board by iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch or TV. Device names read as names, not model numbers.

iPhone and Mac

The same space on both, with a sidebar on the Mac and iPad. Testers can be on either.

How it works

Up and running in an afternoon.

  1. 1

Make a space for your app

Import it from the App Store, or create one by hand. Channels, boards and roles come with it. You’re the owner.

  2. 2

    Send testers a code

One-use codes, or a code with a number of uses and an expiry. They install Snagbox from TestFlight, paste the code, and they’re in as testers. Comped can email it for you.

  3. 3

    Connect App Store Connect, once

Add an API key on your Mac or iPhone. Your builds and their What to Test mirror into the space whenever you open it. The key stays in your Keychain.

  4. 4

    Run the loop

Bugs come in with the facts. You mark them fixed in a build. Testers verify from the To Test list. Ideas get voted up. Nobody asks which build it was.

Privacy

Your keys stay yours.

Your App Store Connect key stays on your devices

It lives in your Keychain and syncs between your own Mac and iPhone through iCloud Keychain. Builds are read by your device and mirrored into the space. Snagbox’s servers never hold the key.

Testers see nicknames, not emails

You sign in with Apple. Other members see the name you choose and the avatar you set, nothing else.

Screenshots lose their metadata

A screenshot is shrunk and re-encoded on the device before upload, so a photo’s location and serial never leave the phone.

No analytics, no ads, no tracking

Not in the app, not on this site. Delete your account from Settings and everything you own goes with it.

Bring your testers with you.
